I recently went to swap my screen's orientation so that the button was on the other side, but that option is missing from the setting menu.

In the user profile you can set the wrist to left or right. I would have expected it to reverse the screen orientation based on that. I tried it but it did not change, maybe it needs to restart after a change, anyway give it a try. (I tried to shursown/restart after a change but orientation stayed the same, perhaps contact support on it, could be another silly bug).
For me it would be more sensible to use the wrist as screen orientation (I see nothing else it should do) but indeed it does not do anything (perhaps the sensor for wrist flicking to get the light on is dependent on it?). I would just open a support case to ask how to change it. Saw an earlier post that remarks the setting took ages to effect the watch.

Although this one contradicts it from Garmin post :

They are a bit ancient though, just contact support would be my suggestion since the option is no longer available.

Also suggests it is available for Vivoactive 3 but not the music version.
Flipping the button to the opposite side caused other problems - such as the compass was 180 degrees off without manual recalibration, and I recall they dropped that option on the va3m. Same way I'm pretty sure the dropped the case swipe on the va3m, where you could swipe the side of the case opposite the button instead of the screen.
