Faulty vivo active hr watch

After 2 years, my vivo active hr watch has stopped working after a swim in the local pool. I have taken care of this watch and didn’t expect this to happen as it is supposed to be swim proof.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Can you elaborate on what is going on? Not powering on? Erroneous data. Faulty display?

Yes, the diisplay was faulty to begin with. Now, the device will simply not turn on.

Yes, I’ve tried this. When I put the watch on charge, the screen display is distorted. I fear the water had permanently damaged the watch.

Sounds like water damage. I see another related thread here: Vivoactive HR - probable water damage

You can try contacting Garmin Support, but likely they are going to recommend what I've already linked and offer to repair or replace at a cost, since it is out of warranty.
