1) The place where the temperature is read is actually 7 degrees different - what you're comparing it to is a ways away, different elevation etc.
2) The data in the widget is old - maybe 30-60 mins and the temperature has changed.
Where the widget gets it's data is probably something like the nearest airport, and then the data isn't real time (maybe every x minutes), and it could also be that you are comparing it to a temperature right where you are, but it could be that thermometer is in the sun or something..
I live maybe 10 miles from the nearest airport, but at a higher elevation, and actually on the backside of a mountain from the airport, so I'll often see inconsistencies.
