Doubts about always on display

About this "always on feature", does anyone can tell me if there can be risk of damages to display?

Garmin tells, in manual, that this always on was designed to minimize damages to display.

But is all known that OLEAD displays has this kind of issue.

So, anyone can tell me if really works fine?

I tried it for a little while, but ended up turning it off. When I was using it, they moved the time to a different location on the screen every 15 seconds or so. And the time was very dim. And the only thing that AOD shows after the timeout on the full screen is just the time.
