Venu - elevation data

Does Venu store real elevation data with outdoor activity (run) or is computed with gps location after uploading to Garmin Connect app? I have connected Endomondo account to Garmin Connect and there is no altitude data after automatic upload.

Endomondo support told me that Vivoactive4/Venu does not track GPS elevation and calculates instead. So does Strava, but not Endomondo. Which is strange, because Vivoactive 3 DOES track elevation data using GPS. Why remove this feature in 4/Venu?

I'm confused by this. Venu has a barometic altimeter, why would elevation be calculated? I can see elevation track on Garmin, and this seems to be mirrored on Strava?

You can see in Garmin connect that (by default) Venu elevation corrections are disabled, and it's using the watch data?
