My average resting HR is reported lower than is actually accurate

My average resting HR reported by the watch is inaccurate - for example, my average resting HR yesterday was 79 BPM, yet my average was 84 BPM when sleeping.  There are only a few short points during the day where my HR hit as low as 79 bpm, so I know this is in inaccurate average.

I know my resting HR is high due to a medical condition, and often when I'm sitting or laying down resting it's at 100-110 bpm.

Could the watch think I'm exercising when I'm not (e.g. when my HR gets to 120, 130, 140 - which for me is just a casual walk), and be determining my average "resting" based on just a few points and missing that I'm resting most often with a higher heart rate?  Is there a setting I can change to make sure the watch doesn't assume I'm exercising when I'm not?
