Steps not registered

I have a 25 day streak of 10 000 steps. Yesterday I completed my 10 000 steps and the graph on the app shows that I did 10 368 for the day, however, the total step count is only registering that I've done 9 473 steps (see pic below) ... As a result it shows that I haven't hit 10 000 steps and lost my streak. How can I get this data back? is there a way to rectify it?

Steps can be off occasionally using all tracking wrist devices because they rely on arm movement. As of the time of this post steps is the one measure that doesn’t have edit in the app. I do think edit steps will be in a future update, but not certain.
