Body composition data

I recently purchased the Garmin Index2, after returning a Withings Body Cardio. I exported my data from the cardio.

Looking at the respective data  I find that the Withings body compsition weights do total back near enough to the total body weight.

Categories per withings Health Mate App: :-

Fat Kgs (A)

Skeletal Muscle kgs (B)

Bone Mass kgs (C)

Hydration Kgs (D)

Recorded Weight = A+B+C (D being a guide to hydration.)

Comparing the Data I get on my Index2 I'm seeing nowhere near the same pattern

Fat, bone mass & hydration data is all pretty comparable within a few % variation.

Where I'm seeing an enourmous difference is in Skeletal Muscle Mass which is on average only 52% of the withings figure.

I don't understand why this should be. Can anyone explain.

I have the actual data available if anyone is interested.
