Body Fat and weight correlation

I just started using the Index scale, and it seems that the body fat is being calculated entirely off of weight. I have stepped on the scale, gotten a measurement, stepped off, drank a few glasses of water and stepped back on. Both weight and body fat % increased relatively the same amount. also, the weight graph and the body fat graphs in GCM look identical. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I would like to use the scale for body recompostion, but it seems that the body fat will change the in the same amount and direction as weight does.

  • Yes. I just purchased this scale. I have had a Tanita for years and just wanted something cooler. Pre ride Tanita 9% body fat Garmin 8.2%. Post 3+ hour ride. Tanita 11% body fat after a 5 pound loss... Garmin came in at 6.5%. The scale is a scam. It does not measure metrics.
