Garmin Index Scale 2... it needs to come quickly.

Hi guys. For many of who didn't buy the Garmin Index and now need a smart scale in the Garmin ecosystem, the ageing Garmin Index is not an appealing prospect and is looking a bit long in the tooth.

I saw mention that the Garmin Index 2 may be announced soon... has anyone heard anything?

I'm waiting for the scale2, too. I have seen the same behaviour when they have stop the watch swim to the swim2 that is better.

Personally I am also waiting for a new version. In fact, I’ve been waiting for 1-2 years.

There are many smart scales out there that do the same for half the price, but I would prefer something that’s in the same ecosystem.

Having said that, here is my wishlist for v2:

- Improved reliability (never owned one myself, but here a lot of complaints that the current version doesn’t work well/seamlessly)

- Blood pressure reading (see references as far back as 2015 to such tech, here’s an example https://www.asme.org/topics-resources/content/bathroom-scale-measure-blood-pressure)

- Blood sugar / glucose reading (many such non-invasive devices, now just implement the tech into a scale)

- Cholesterol reading (perhaps a bigger ask, but there are non invasive options in the pipelines, maybe Garmin picks one up?

Answer is open source integration for all scales without any restrictions.

I also can't wait for a new version because I have a lot of problems with my current scale. Sometimes it simply wont connect with WiFi (my router is Asus GT-AX11000 for which I paid 600 € for and the scale is quite close to it... at the same spot I get all bars on my Samsung S9+). I also have some concerns that the current Index is not accurate. I would love to buy any other smart connected scale but the problem is that only Index works with Garmin Connect

Some folks seem to be able to fix their Wi-Fi issues by changing their router's DNS server settings, as mentioned here: Smart Index Scale Setup Problem Detecting Wifi

Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 is poison for Index.

Not buying another Garmin scale. The index 1 is one of the more expensive ones. It's buggy, the data are not trustworthy and the time to fix issues is in glacier pace. I wanted to have everything in one ecosystem but not anymore.
