Can't Zero Scale

My scale suddenly started showing a weight of 2.4 lbs with no one on it. I followed the steps to manually zero and now it shows a weight of 6.5 lbs when on the tile floor. When I lift it up it will go to 0.0. I wait for the display to go off, then set it on the floor gently. After a moment it comes on and reads 6.5 lbs.

What I've tried:

Replaced batteries
Manual zero
Deleted from account and factory reset

I saw several other articles about zeroing the scale on the forum but none seemed to have the problem with the scale reading 6+ lbs when just resting on the floor.

I think it has happened before - my own scale has thankfully functioned flawlessly but there are for sure others with similar problems as you

Thanks. Looks like I will have to try and contact Garmin support next week. I've had the scale since March 2018 so probably out of warranty now.

My scale generally shows 2.9 kg (= about 6.5 lbs) when I first put it on the floor. This is the weight of the scale itself. If I then step on it, it seems to add 2.9 kg to my weight. What I do to correct this, is gently lift the scale up and gently put it down again: then it shows zero and weighs me correctly.

What you have described is in the manual as the method to manually zero the scale. I had tried that several times. I contacted Garmin support and they sent me another series of steps, which essentially was to remove the batteries, wait for 30 minutes, hard reset the device, and start from the beginning. That didn't change anything and so they ended up sending me a replacement.

Garmin support was very responsive and very helpful I didn't expect at all that they would send.a replacement scale.
