can i set my scale to work in metric systems.

I don't have this scale but from the specs you can. Did you try using the app?

Yes. I have been using my one (bought in USA) set to KG for 18 months.

Yes. From the user's guide -

"Changing the Units of Measure

On the underside of the scale, slide the switch to your preferred unit of measure."
