I think when the thing is actually tracking a ride and using more processing power, I'm closer to your 3C as well (which is a good bit higher than the error at idle that I cited above). Something to beware of with the Garmin built in routing using its own map is that it doesn't always detect certain junctions at all. There are some turns and locations that the Garmin will never pop up a turn notice of any type for ever. On a Garmin various different settings can conflict sometimes. These are my Garmin Edge 850 settings which have the map screen popping up for turn notifications. Apparently the Garmin Edge 850 is about the same as the Edge 1050 for menus so they should be in the same place. Most of these probably aren't necessary but this configuration is what is currently working for me with navigation turn notices appearing as a map before a turn. 1. Menu - Activity Profiles - Choose profile - Data Screens - tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and set Auto Scroll to OFF After doing that go to 2. Go back to the home screen of the Garmin Edge 850 and then tap on the Profile Name at the top of the screen to show the actual Data Screens. Scroll through them until the actual Map screen is visible. Once viewing the Map screen press the UPPER RIGHT button once on the Garmin Edge 840 to bring up the Map Options Menu Map Overlays Segments - OFF Popularity Map - OFF Course Points - ON High Traffic Roads - OFF Road Hazards - ON Unpaved Roads - ON Climb Pro - OFF 5. That could possibly overwrite what is causing the issue and get the heart rate monitors working again. There's nothing in the current beta firmware notes about any heart rate monitor fixes though: Public Beta 31.20 - 20% I think it's either wait for the full release of the next firmware or full factory reset. Taking photos of all the Garmin data screens and notes of the settings makes it much quicker to set up a Garmin again than otherwise.

Forum Post: Als ik een koers fiets en deze verlaat (bijv iets te gaan drinken), stuurt de garmin mij terug. If it's one of the newer 12 speed groupsets then a good test would be to try the Shimano etube cyclist mobile phone app. This connects wirelessly to the Di2 gears. The aim being to determine if the Shimano Di2 gears are ever going fully to sleep. bettershifting.com/.../ SRAM AXS gears are kept awake by motion (such as the bike shaking) but I don't think the Shimano Di2 gears are. For this I'd still take it off the wall rack and lean the bike somewhere stable to eliminate movement as a possibility. With the Garmin Edge 840 completely OFF (not in Sleep mode) I'd first try connecting the Shimano Etube Project Cyclist phone app to the gears, to make sure the Di2 gears are awake and functioning to begin with by connecting to the app properly. I'd then disconnect the Shimano Etube Project Cyclist app from the Di2 gears, force close the app AND turn off Bluetooth on the mobile phone so it can't stay connected in the background. Leave the bike motionless for at least 15 minutes, which should be enough to let the Di2 gears go into sleep mode After 15 minutes I'd then try standing next to the bike, without touching any buttons on the Di2, and turn ON the Garmin Edge 840. Once the Garmin Edge 840 has booted up, still without touching any buttons on the Di2, go to Menu - Sensors and have a look at the icon for the Shimano Di2 gears sensor on the Garmin Edge 840 in the sensor list. The Di2 gears sensor icon should be flashing on and off with "Searching" showing next to it. That means the Garmin can't find the gears and they're fully asleep. If the gears are still awake then the issue could be with the Shimano Di2 gears.

Forum Post: RE: Edge 1050 Temperature Reading Always High

Same to me. 3°C (high) across the entire temperature range. In short, no still haven’t got it sorted. Still suffering the same drop out after 5 seconds. She’s had to resort to broadcasting HR from her Fenix watch during the last couple of outdoor cycle rides - yet it appears to work on an indoor ride (don’t know if the sensor list is different per activity profile). Have washed 3 HR straps which although making them smell nice, has not resolved the problem either. When we got back from yesterday’s ride, I paired my Garmin HRM (which had been working faultlessly with my Edge) to her Edge 840 and it seemed to work. This made me think we were back to a problem with both of her HRMs rather than an Edge issue again - but your thoughts on cached historic sensor issues could also account for this (but not why it works on an indoor setting). Think I’d come to the same conclusion of a full reset was the next thing to try. My feelings are that it must be software related as the drop out is exactly after 5 seconds of it working - and you can almost repeat this at will.

Forum Post: RE: Nepal and Bhutan nowhere to be found?

Thank you everyone. I realise that a lot of people use other maps, but I prefer the ease of use and coherence of using maps from the same supplier. That is one of the reasons I bought this device: Ease of updating/ downloading maps. That said I can live with those two countries being dowbloaded from elsewhere, as it will be a while before I return to that area. It would just be nice to be able to simple tether it to my phone and select the maps I want (as with all the other maps). I guess I can use osmand+ with brouter tiles if push comes to shove, but I don't like using my phone while riding, especially not a modern phone which has optical stuff to be shaken to bits if placed on the handlebars. I still can't fathom why they offer Greenland and Antarctica, but not Bhutan and Nepal.

Forum Post: RE: EDGE keeps saying (and beeping) "Cadence sensor connected", over and over again while the bike is stored in the garage after I came from a ride.

In my case, I haven’t used the bike in a few days.
