What am I doing wrong, or what else should I check? I used another USB cable to connect the 1040 with my laptop and after that it installed the latest version on my Garmin device. So the pc connects to the device, but. I still cant find the "Garmin" folder on my pc and now I got into a connect IQ loop with komoot. Oops The Garmin folder does exist, but is named "edge 1040", so that issue is also solved. I try to install the komoot widget through connect-IQ, go to Garmin connect-> connect_IQ store, install komoot ( it appears to get installed). I then go -> Garmin connect -> find connect-IQ -> find komoot and push it, then need to scan the QR code that appears on the Garmin 1040. I do that, the QR is recognised, the Garmin 1040 appears on my phone screen, I push "connect". after some time the message appears: connection failed, unable to get entrycode make sure that the device has komoot installed ? Strava said it was ~2900, although I don't trust Strava, all their mapping tools are awful. Garmin tried to put in some filters on elevation accumulation, I suppose to make it only count actual "hills" and not minor ups and downs in the road, but people flipped out and they reverted it. I have mine set to "ask" (sorry, mine is in daniish). You can have it in automatic and manual too. I have set mine to 6 km/h before it "asks" for me to start an activity. My cycling club has a robust RideWithGPS site that allows for syncing between it and Garmin Edge devices so the routes stay updated. I only keep the USA maps loaded and they sync via Bluetooth through Garmin Connect on my iPhone.
