Both are enabled in the profile, and the respective data screens are activated, as well as the option for automatic pop-up when approaching. I’ve already done several rides, and not once did the Edge switch to the segment page or the ClimbPro page. On my Epix Gen2, this works without any issues. What am I doing wrong, or what else should I check? I used another USB cable to connect the 1040 with my laptop and after that it installed the latest version on my Garmin device. So the pc connects to the device, but. I still cant find the "Garmin" folder on my pc and now I got into a connect IQ loop with komoot. Oops The Garmin folder does exist, but is named "edge 1040", so that issue is also solved. I try to install the komoot widget through connect-IQ, go to Garmin connect-> connect_IQ store, install komoot ( it appears to get installed). I then go -> Garmin connect -> find connect-IQ -> find komoot and push it, then need to scan the QR code that appears on the Garmin 1040. I do that, the QR is recognised, the Garmin 1040 appears on my phone screen, I push "connect". after some time the message appears: connection failed, unable to get entrycode make sure that the device has komoot installed ? Why is everything so overcomplicated nowadays.

Forum Post: RE: Strava Live Segments on Edge 1050: Lack of Feature Parity

Do you have to use a paid Strava subscription for segments to work on Edge 1050?

Forum Post: RE: Edge 1050 not automatically switching between main screen and course map before turns

So I decided to use Garmin Express to update my maps (as the WiFi method was not progressing for some reason) and turned Guide Text to on, and OMG, everything started working like I expected on my test ride today. This past weekend I got ~4900 and everyone else was at about 2900 and 3000. Correcting on Garmin dropped it to 3900. Strava said it was ~2900, although I don't trust Strava, all their mapping tools are awful. Garmin tried to put in some filters on elevation accumulation, I suppose to make it only count actual "hills" and not minor ups and downs in the road, but people flipped out and they reverted it. Most of the Edge units have an internal barometer which is used to estimate elevation change, but I don't know how sensitive and accurate they are or how they compensate for Bernoulli effects from air speed.

Forum Post: RE: Edge 1050 not automatically switching between main screen and course map before turns

Chicago, USA as a location definitely ought to be covered for Garmin map turn directions and navigation. On my Garmin Edge 850 both routes from RWGPS and Garmin Connect work for turn directions. In the sounds menu I’d have the sounds turned on also as that will give a clear idea of whether the navigation is creating turn directions and then showing them on the route. Menu - System - Tones - Voice Prompts - Navigation Alerts If there are no turn directions at all that’s a different Garmin issue to having turn directions but no map turning pop up so it would be useful to confirm that is doing turn directions. The test of choosing a point of interest, on the map such as a nearby bike shop, and then choosing to navigate to it should start creating directions without even needing to go outdoors. The Garmin only needs a GPS lock for current location. On the Garmin Edge 840 and 850 the pop up map turn directions only appear when riding along and looking at a standard data screen (just data fields displayed). When riding with the Map screen as the main display it doesn’t change to the pop up map direction, only on the other screens.

Forum Post: Edge Explore 2 Version 30.19 - 20%

Firmware version 30.19 for the Edge Explore 2 is now available.
