Chipped carbon pedal

Hi,

Unfortunately, there was a chip from the carbon in my pedal, see below. From normal usage, this piece seems to have chipped from the pedal and I am told this is not covered and I have to buy a new pedal body.

I find this quite strange, I have never heard of this happening to any other carbon pedals.

They aren't carbon though... They are made of plastic aren't they?

I have to admit, even viewing your image a full size (“View Image”) I can’t see the chip you describe.

The bodies are replaceable as spare parts from Garmin.com and maybe other sources.

Looking at the picture that would appear to be more of a wear pattern caused by the heal moving in towards the bike frame during some part of the pedal stroke. I would check the cleat position to make sure you are not up against the float limit during your pedal stroke.
