Mounting RCT715 on Rear of My Bike Rack

I would like to mount the RCT715 to the rear of my bike rack rather than the seat post so I can use it when I have stuff on the rack.
If I mount it upside down I can keep it further from the tire and out of most of the spray that comes off the tread.

As long as the rear face of the RCT715 is keep vertical when mounted, is there a reason I shouldn't? Please be specific if there is a reason not to.

  • Genuine question - does the unit need to be mounted vertically? The regular radar unit - RTL - does not. I know the camera in the RCT is likely set up for vertical mounting, but surely it is easy enough through software to rotate footage through 90degrees and thus mount the unit horizontally?
