Updated SW version to 32.20 and all issues have been solved. Quarq DZero pairing, calibration, etc. works fine, iPhone sync is also perfect now.

One comment: I couldn't update the SW version from 32.16 with my iPhone (tried it dozen of times!), ended in an error message in all cases. I had to install Garmin Express to my computer, add Edge MTB and update the SW with Garmin Express.

So, if anyone would have issues with the SW update, using Garmin Express would definitely help!

After saving and activity, connection drops from my iPhone 12 Mini (newest iOS!). I have to fully power off Edge MTB and switch it on again to reconnect for syncing, which is quite annoying. I noticed this issue since Edge MTB got the newest 32.14 Beta software.

Can be important: beginning from version 31.33, even if my Edge MTB correctly (?) connects to my Quarq DZero power meter, Calibration ends in error and also my Edge MTB constantly shows 0 Watts. (Note: this Quarq works perfectly with my old Edge 830.)

I tried to remove this Quarq as a sensor and pair it again. Edge MTB recognizes and shows it's Quarq ID but the pairing process always end in an error, my Quarq cannot be re-paired.

Downhill MTB records ascent and give personal records

I bought the device for downhill MTB.

The device on the downhill profile records ascent and even proposes the ascent of the shuttles as a personal records.

Same happens to app.

Is this a joke ?

With firmware 32.20 the Edge MTB still is recording ascents. So the issue still isn't' fixed

Can't Update Past 6.06

I recently had an issue today where my Edge MTB randomly rebooted several times throughout the ride. After doing some research, I found that this issue was fixed in version 28.33, so I tried to update my unit.

Despite the unit arriving less than 2 weeks ago, it's still in software version 6.06. I bought it brand new directly from Garmin... shouldn't it come with new(er) software? Anyways, even after going to settings in the Garmin, going to settings in Garmin Connect, and even connecting the device to Garmin Express, it won't let me update the software. In fact, it even says "Software is up to date — Version 6.06." I'm pretty confident version 6.06 is not up to date. (And nothing changed when I enrolled in the beta program either.)

Garmin express let me update the maps, but nothing else. And to add salt to the wound, the unit gets stuck in the boot screen after disconnecting it from Garmin Express, forcing me to force reset it every time.

I was loving this unit until the reboot issue, and now the hassle of trying to update it is only making it worse. It's an expensive unit, I shouldn't be having this much difficulty- especially when it's (basically) brand new.

With the Edge powered off, hold down the lap button and connect the cable to the PC.

Keep holding the lap button until the unit enters USM MTP mode. This can take up to 30n seconds.

When it is mounted let go of the lap button.

Place this file in the Garmin folder on the Edge.

Discount the Edge from the PC and see if it installs it. This is build 28.34

Hi. Did you get it sorted out? Mine is stuck on 4.04. It starts to download new software but always fails before its done and after that it shows that no updates availible.

The problem still occurs under 31.33 and accordingly to Garmin it's a software problem.

However, for a month I didn't get an update from Garmin and after asking the support, the info info I got is that the problem is known, but they can't tell, when it will be fixed. Honestly, this answer isn't acceptable as one of the key features of this device and for me one of the reasons I bought it in the first place, isn't working and Garmin doesn't seem to bother...

Besides, Downhill MTB as well as Enduro MTB is pushed to Strava as cycling and not MTB. Having different bikes setup in Strava for cycling and MTB, I always have to change the bike within the activity. I also informed Garmin about this a month ago, but also this hasn't been solved. Should be an easy fix I would assume...

During my workout, I'd like to know what the next step is—for example, in which HR zone the next repetition will be. Unfortunately, I haven't found a field to enter that information.

Maybe there's something available at the IQ Store?

In my opinion, this is the worst device I've ever owned. I've already filed a complaint about it three times and received a brand-new replacement, but various problems keep cropping up.

Device isn't debugged at all, both the hardware and software sides have constant problems.

I would even start a new thread about the problems I'm having with this device, but Garmin obviously doesn't care. It won't accomplish anything anyway.

IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO GET RID OF IT OR RETURN IT, DO SO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !!!

Restarting during ride

My daily problem is that when recording activity, the device constantly restarts, navigation is off, I don't touch the device, it just restarts... sometimes after every 10-12km, for example on a 170km trip it restarted 13 times

VERSION 6.06, does anyone have a similar problem?

The device is new directly from Garmin, I have it only 20 days and I am struggling with this problem, ah my problems with Garmin will probably never end...

Lots of people have recommended Garmin to me saying: stable, quality and long lasting device...

I first purchased a Garmin Fenix 8, after 4 months the watch was restarting with the flashlight on, so the complaint department, it took a lot of time explaining since they just wiped and updated the device ahh

Garmin Varia out of the box couldn't even just turn on completely non-functional, again the complaint department

I don't know what to do, every Garmin device is faulty and waiting for 30 days to process a claim during the summer season is unacceptable ahhhhhhh

Build 6.06 is an older software build. The latest public build is 31.33.

I have seen a few post of customers having trouble upgrading from 6.06. You might need to reach out to Garmin Customer Support if you cannot get the unit to upgrade.

I’ve had the MTB for a couple of months now, and up until today it’s been working just fine. But during today’s commute it restarted two times - quite annoying if you ask me.

I doubt this you take this seriously.

Complains about the Gates, one of the major marketing features of the Edge MTB, have been here for more than 12 months.

Nothing has been improved at all. It is still a useless gimmick.

Meanwhile you keep adding features for non MTB riders..... what MTB rider is using a rearview radar on the trail??

Run different timing gate sets during one activity

I was just doing my first runs and testing the new timing gate function.
I really like it and it was one of the main reasons for me to get the edge mtb. But I might be stupid but I can only do one set of gates per activity?

So I was recording a E-MTB Activity on my after work tour.
This tour includes two trails. For each trail I setup a series of gates. While I am in my activity I started the timing for trail one and did some laps there which worked fine.
After that I wanted to do the same for trail two but this didn´t work. The edge told me I would have to start a new activity to start my other set of gates.

Is this the way it is intended?

Climbing or Descending?

I've recently started using my Edge MTB and one thing I find frustrating is getting to grips with the climb or descend modes. On the surface it seems quite simple but often I'm not sure which mode I'm in. Is there a way to work this out without hitting the lap key?

It would be ace if there was a little border similar to the 5Hz one when in one of the modes. The 5Hz doesn't hang around long enough to be useful for this. Quite often especially on group rides where there's a bit going on I forget to hit the lap button then end up out of sync. A little border or even an optional data field would be a handy little prompt to remind me to put it into the appropriate mode.

Yes, it's paired to my phone. It hasn't updated automatically. Whilst connected on the device I've tried Settings>System>About>Check for Updates. It will start downloading something then after a few seconds state "Transfer Failed" and return to the About page. I've tried this on the mobile app as well although I get "This setting is only available on your Edge MTB".

I also tried resetting it by clearing all data and settings then re-enrolling in the Beta program but no joy.

Thanks, I was using a custom profile which didn't have the Enduro MTB page enabled - found it now and it looks as though it'll do what I'm wanting. I'll test it tomorrow.

I'm having some issues with installing the Beta software though. I've enrolled in the Beta programme but as the device doesn't have wifi I can't install using the suggested route. I've tried searching for updates on the device but it ends up at "failed to transfer". I've tried Garmin Express also but that won't find the latest Beta update. Do you have any suggestions?

The page is called Enduro MTB.

The full width data field switches between ascent/descent based on the mode the unit is in.
