Garmin Edge Touring for trail hiking

I have a Garmin Edge Touring. I was wondering if I can upload hiking route through trails as a gpx and use it the device to follow the course? If so, what settings can I use?

Your Edge was not designed for hiking. Regardless of settings, you will likely see 'anomalies' with your data.

Thank you, this helps! I am more interested in using Garmin Edge as a mapping device (to follow along a gpx trail route) than to track activity. Looks like it might be possible for that. I will try it out.

I have got a Garmin Forerunner watch to record my activity in addition to the edge. Trying to avoid another device for trail hiking maps.
