Since I cycle almost exclusively in broad daylight, I would like to keep the backlight at 0% (i.e. completely off), because the backlight makes absolutely no visible difference in daylight, and causes unnecessary battery drain. So I set the backlight level to 0%. And it works until restart. After restart the backlight is on (although the setting is still at 0%), and to make things worse, does not time out (even though timeout is set to 15 seconds). To remedy I have to increase backlight momentarily and then reset it back to 0%, but it works only to next restart.
Any known workarounds?
