Edge explore switches on when charging is finished.

Mine does that, too.  On top of that, it covered 47 kilometers while it was still sitting on my table.  Seems like a defect to me.

Device is off, then I plug it in for charging and when finished I unplug it, but it stays on.

If I forget to turn it off manually, it is completely flat next morning - which is probably not good for battery longevity.

For this reason, and because of its disappointingly short battery life, I always use an external battery pack.

Mine turns on when plugged in to charge and again when unplugged after charging. Basically, it has to be turned off twice every time it's charged.

Is there a fix?

There is no fix.

Have you tried charging it with a plug in charger? It will turn completely off after charging. It only turns back on if it's charged by plugging into a computer.

I always charge it from the mains and have tried with the cable that came with my 1030. The 1030 works as expected, it's only the Explore that has this problem.

Interesting that yours doesn't have the same issue. I am going to try to return mine.

I do not confirm. I always charge with a plug-in wall charger, and the edge explore always turns on when I plug it in, and then turns on again by itself as soon as it is unplugged.

I guess I'm wrong in assuming that the Edge Explore behaves like the other Edges. I can't understand why Garmin decided to do this.
