When will 2026.10 Europe maps be back?

Now there is a fix, when will the maps (or revised version if necessary) be re-released? I fly to the UK in a week and was hoping for newer maps.

If it was the only bug…

This product is absolutely not serious… and I had the 850 as well which was an horror compared to the explorer 2.

The firmware updates are jokes (for those hoping to solve their issues…). Nightmare

Has anyone had this issue of following your route & the prompts says turn left/right, but if the next turning is a short distance away, the device never tells you to turn, but still shows the previous turning prompt?

Still NO fix.. Bloody annoying...

I have a better experience with my phone than the Explore 2

How can it be a bosch limitation when it works on a 1040 and not on a explore 2 who didnt get the beta update which is needed?

It's incomprehensible that this feature doesn't work in today's world. If Explore 3 is also limited, I'll have to look for another device...

Looking through the IQ store I found Di2Explore but it didn't work. It just displayed "Time" in one corner and a 5-digit number in the middle of the screen, and the developer hasn't responded to my question.

Anyone know of another way to display the current gears of Wheeltop EDS TX electronic shifters, ideally with battery status?

Activity upload to Garmin Connect not working

Auto Activity upload to GC on Version 30.23 did not work. I had to Upload the activitie manual.
What could be the Problem?

Almost every match I get a notification of emergency alert/call... message says 'hold button for a few seconds to cancel', this isn't working!
How can I stop this feature?

Is anybody use/need those buttons to be always present on the map screen ? Seems to me a Virtual Partner kind of feature or a downgrade feature. Those buttons desappear after a couple of seconds on my 1030...

Turn by turn Navigation stopped working

Before everything was fine, but since I transfer the cource from RideWithGPS (or with an update to the device I don't know) with the Send to Garmin turn by turn is not working. I get the course on the map, but not indication on whats the next turn.

I got the latest firmware installed 30.23

Check that Turn Guidance is enabled

Navigation -> Courses -> 3 dot menu top right hand corner -> Turn Guidance (On)

I don't use the map to navigation that often. When I am near home then maybe sometimes I stop and have a look and decide whether to turn left or right. I used it when I was on a trip abroad. However then I used mostly cycle paths. There it worked pretty well. There were a few points where the cycle path was "moved" to another street, and neither komoot nor Garmin map knew about it yet, but it's not a big deal. I haven't used it in singles or small offroad paths, so I don't know how it is there.

But when I bought the edge I also used it a few times around my home, where I know the place to see how much I can trust it, so I'll know when I am at unknown places. I guess that's more or less what you do now (smart).

After using all sorts of apps over the years — from Google Maps to GeoVelo, Strava, and Komoot — and completely wearing out my phone battery after what must be around 22,000 km of riding in the last few years , I finally bought a Garmin Edge Explore 2 and I’m honestly very, very happy with it.

I’m also really happy to be part of this group

I do have a couple of questions for people who have been using these devices longer than I have (I’ve only had mine about a month):

GPS responsiveness

It seems to me that the GPS can sometimes be a bit slow to react. For example, when I import a GPX trace into the Garmin, it occasionally updates my position a few hundred meters late. I also tried using the routing directly from the Garmin itself and noticed the same thing sometimes.

Another issue is that here in France it often wants to send me onto roads with cars and doesn’t always recognize the small dirt roads or bike paths that I regularly use.

Is there a way to improve GPS responsiveness or map accuracy?

Or is this just normal behavior with imported traces and Garmin routing?

Temperature reading

Yesterday I noticed the Garmin temperature was about 2°C higher than the actual outdoor temperature according to my iPhone.

Is that normal?

Does body heat or sunlight affect the sensor that much?

Wind speed

It would also be wonderful to have wind speed and wind direction while riding, but apparently Garmin doesn’t really offer that directly.

Has anyone found a good workaround or app integration for this?

In fact, I’ve been experimenting with it a lot recently. One of my mistakes was that I hadn’t downloaded the correct maps for my region — I had Eastern Europe instead of Western Europe. I tested it again yesterday and it was still a bit sluggish, but now I finally have the right maps installed.

Another thing is that I have many bike routes I’ve been riding for almost 10 years, and Garmin simply doesn’t know some of these local paths. Yesterday I tested one of my standard rides, and it kept constantly recalculating the route. As mentioned before, it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute each time it recalculates.

I’m sure it will be much more useful when I’m somewhere completely unfamiliar and have no idea where I’m going. The next thing I need to test is one of my usual routes downloaded and installed now that the correct Western Europe maps are installed.

Little by little, I’m getting my wings with it.

Was 30.23 revoked?

I have 30.19, and when I check for software update it tells me the is none. @Garmin-Michael FYI. BTW I can't tag you, although I see many other users in the list.
