When will 2026.10 Europe maps be back?

Now there is a fix, when will the maps (or revised version if necessary) be re-released? I fly to the UK in a week and was hoping for newer maps.

Looking through the IQ store I found Di2Explore but it didn't work. It just displayed "Time" in one corner and a 5-digit number in the middle of the screen, and the developer hasn't responded to my question.

Anyone know of another way to display the current gears of Wheeltop EDS TX electronic shifters, ideally with battery status?

Almost every match I get a notification of emergency alert/call... message says 'hold button for a few seconds to cancel', this isn't working!
How can I stop this feature?

Do we need map zoom buttons always on screen?

Turn by turn Navigation stopped working

Before everything was fine, but since I transfer the cource from RideWithGPS (or with an update to the device I don't know) with the Send to Garmin turn by turn is not working. I get the course on the map, but not indication on whats the next turn.

After using all sorts of apps over the years — from Google Maps to GeoVelo, Strava, and Komoot — and completely wearing out my phone battery after what must be around 22,000 km of riding in the last few years , I finally bought a Garmin Edge Explore 2 and I’m honestly very, very happy with it.

I’m also really happy to be part of this group

I do have a couple of questions for people who have been using these devices longer than I have (I’ve only had mine about a month):

GPS responsiveness

It seems to me that the GPS can sometimes be a bit slow to react. For example, when I import a GPX trace into the Garmin, it occasionally updates my position a few hundred meters late. I also tried using the routing directly from the Garmin itself and noticed the same thing sometimes.

Another issue is that here in France it often wants to send me onto roads with cars and doesn’t always recognize the small dirt roads or bike paths that I regularly use.

Is there a way to improve GPS responsiveness or map accuracy?

Or is this just normal behavior with imported traces and Garmin routing?

Temperature reading

Yesterday I noticed the Garmin temperature was about 2°C higher than the actual outdoor temperature according to my iPhone.

Is that normal?

Does body heat or sunlight affect the sensor that much?

Wind speed

It would also be wonderful to have wind speed and wind direction while riding, but apparently Garmin doesn’t really offer that directly.

Has anyone found a good workaround or app integration for this?

Has anyone had this issue of following your route & the prompts says turn left/right, but if the next turning is a short distance away, the device never tells you to turn, but still shows the previous turning prompt?

Still NO fix.. Bloody annoying...

I have a better experience with my phone than the Explore 2

My New Explore 2 (30.19) just crashed after 3km on my second ride.

After updating to 30.19, the device initially started up. However, it crashed while I was setting the display layout for a tour and has not started up since. It gets stuck in a “Saving Diagnostics” loop followed by a reboot. The key combinations mentioned in the forum and the manuals did not help, even after multiple attempts. Plugging it in while holding down the Loop button results in the display showing “Loader 30.19” + “Garmin.” The device is only two and a half months old.

Maps stop at the Canadian border

My Edge Explore 2 map works fine in the U.S. but stops at the Canadian border. I've reset the maps defaults on the unit and also reset it (holding the power button for 12+ seconds) but nothing changed.
After the resets, Map Information shows the following:
AMR Standard Basemap, NR is disabled
TopoActive NA, US 2025.10 is enabled
Garmin DEM Map North America 2023.10 is enabled
Garmin Geocode Map North America 2024.10 is enabled
I've also tried to reinstall the maps via Garmin Express (support.garmin.com/.../ but there isn't an option for Select Map Options that I can find.
Finally, the current version is 30.19.
Any thoughts on how to get the map for Canada working?

I can't install the maps on my Explore 2.

I had been putting this off for a while, and today I finally tried updating the maps on my Garmin device.

However, when I try to update them using Garmin Express, it says: “Changes not applied” (in Korean: “변경사항이 적용되지 않음”).

Is this an issue with my device, or could it be a problem on Garmin’s end?

Any help would be appreciated, as I currently can’t access my maps.

Garmin Express does not allow me to update firmware - stuck on 28.33

Hi,

I purchased a refurbished (via Amazon) EE2 and am experiencing problems getting Garmin Express to recognise that the firmware needs updated.

I think this is because the firmware has a "sideloaded" flag on it.

I've tried several approaches to fixing it, including clearing the RemoteSW and NewFiles folders. I've also tried removing, readding, fully resetting the device and connecting it in mass storage mode - but still no dice.

I'm led to believe that this may be addressable if I can get hold of the 29.22 firmware GUPDATE.GCD file.

Can anyone suggest how to locate this? Can support on here provide it potentially?

If I've been sold a dud by Amazon, I can go back to them - but would rather fix it myself if possible!

Original Edge will not change time on screen

I have the original edge explore that, after trying EVERYTHING, will not change the time on the display screen. Ive reset twice, connect to Garmin connect and synced numerous times, updated and synced numerous times on Garmin Express, have left it switched on outside for hours and it just wont alter the time on the front screen. If i record a ride it updates Connect and strava with the correct time of the ride but still displays the wrong time.

Yesterday it was an hour out due to BST, now its 7 hours out due to resetting it.

Anything else i can try as this is driving me crazy!!!!!

Edge Explore 2 won't turn on

I put my Edge Explore 2 on charge last night with it showing 65% charge. This morning i went to turn it on and it was unresponsive. I plugged it in and started it and showed 0% charge, after which it shut down and now won't respond either with it plugged in or not. I have checked the power supply and cable and both are good. I've tried a hard reset with and without it plugged in and no response. Is it dead?

Issues on 28.33 - unable to start activity

I found yesterday I was unable to start a ride because the start button was completely non responsive. The lap button is also not doing anything. I also noticed I do not get the power options on screen after holding the power button for a few seconds (power off, sleep etc)

Instead I held down the power button for longer for a hard reset but now it boots into USB MTP mode and is stuck there.

Tried hooking it up to the PC and Garmin express, it failed to update. Tried factory reset holding start, lap and power and it let me do that so it seems the physical buttons do work. After the factory reset I am stuck at square 1 again, not able to start any activity.

Many wasted hours, please help!
