Edge 810 - start/stop button stuck

The start stop button is stuck so unit stays in diagnostic mode when it powers up.

Any tips on how to 'un-stick' the button?

Thanks!

  • Let somebody with the right skills and tools have a look from inside. The switch is a direct contact with conducting rubber directly to the printed circuit board. The rubber interface may be broken or damaged. I've never seen repair reports for this type of switch (comparable to (cheap) keyboard switches) on the Edge 800 / 810 / Touring so probably the only solution will be to install a replacement outer top shell, also containing the touch screen, but without the display unit. You can even search for the bare top cover without the touch screen digitizer but inclusive the two buttons (Lap & Start/Stop). The hassle is however to dismantle the current 810 and refit everything waterproof.

If it's worth the cost and the hassle and maybe risk of no success? Considering a new device is another option and don't forget to include the current battery condition in this.
