johnruddiehotmail.com Please follow the instructions in the following link to set the elevation for the altimeter in your Edge 820. You may want to check the small half moon shaped hole in the back of your Edge above the quarter turn mount to make sure it isn't dirty or obstructed in some way.

Hi, many thanks for your reply.
I have tried the instructions many times and the altimeter reading keeps reversing back to 20000m. Also i don't have a half moon shaped hole - instead I have a small hole which is clear of debris.
The 4 small holes are for the speaker.
The barometric sensor port is above the serial number near the top of the unit when view from the back.
