Corrupt Fit file

My son did his first road race ever yesterday and was using an Edge 820. I believe that his 820 crashed right after the race and as a result his .fit file seems to be corrupt. Is there anyone that can repair it for me?

I probably wouldn't care so much about this if this wasn't his first race ever.

On a side note, his 820 seems to be crashing a lot so I suppose I'll be calling Garmin support.

Can we remove this as a sticky?

lets NOT remove this as a sticky - it allows those of us who assist with fixing corrupt .fit files an easy place to find the requests, and it saves cluttering up the forums…

which file did you zip ? this one was downloaded from Garmin Connect ?

could you please zip and post the original fit file from the activities folder on your edge

hi,

let me résumé

you thought the fit file needed to be fixed

your fit file uploads without a problem to Garmin Connect

there is nothing wrong with your fit file structure and content

37 seconds into your ride the powermeter is added and starts recording data into the fit file
8 seconds later all recording to the fit file stops
5h30' later the file closing data is recorded with all the stats of your ride

perhaps time for a backup/clean procedure on your Activities folder

was the battery depleted at the end ?

my guess that the file was intact internally until at the moment of getting saved

just completed a ride, but somehow the FIT file on my Garmin 820 is corrupt.

Could someone be so kind to change my Totals.fit file please? I resetted my Garmin 830 after two tours recorded and before knowing which files must be saved. So in the Totals.fit the two tours are absent:

1. Time 1:21:17h, 28,16 km, 579 calories, Tour Typ ATB

2. Time 3:31:36h, 51,85km, 1344 calories, Tour Typ MTB

Sum of all tours

ATB 2 Tours (3 within the above) 3:37:12h, 74,9 km, 1572 calories
MTB 5 Tours (6 within the above) 17:14:42h, 247 km, 5693 calories
