Annoying Gear confirmation

Since the last update of the Garmin Edge 540, the function "Change equipment" has been added, which pops up after finishing the ride after clicking "Save". It is very annoying, especially if I ride one bike, or if I have a specific bike marked. I ride 2 road bikes. At home on the road and on the trainer (Ghost), abroad (Silverbak). In the Garmin Edge 540, I have created identical profiles "Ghost" and "Silverback" and the profile "DIreto" (with GPS turned off). Can bikes be permanently assigned to individual profiles so that I don't have to confirm the selection of equipment after each finish?

  • Getting the same on mine - really annpying!

  • Your Activity profile now has a new option to offer Gear Change option. You can turn it off for that profile.

  • Yes, this option is there. But if it's switched off, the ride is saved without any bike. It would be acceptable, if there would be "default gear" option at least.
I have solved this using strautomator.com. It allowed me to differentiate bikes by the specific sensors (IDs). Strava.com gets the name of a bike after each ride. But the annoying "save" procedure still remains.

  • You can set a default bike for cycling in GCM, or GCW. Then with the Change Gear option turned off, you will save with the default bike. In GCM, More >> Gear >> Pick a bike >> Add Default Activities. I have selected Road Cycling for my main road bike. When a save a "Road Cycling" activity, it saves with my selected bike.

  • It saves with my selected bike, even with "Change Gear" option turned off for my Road Cycling profile.
