Garmin 520 - will not stay switched on

hi - my Garmin 520 will simply not stay switched on 

it keeps switching itself off 

I can see there is a red cross in the left hand corner 

it does turn on but only for approx 5 seconds then it switched itself off 

please help? thank you

    If you mean the battery icon in the top left corner, it would appear to be battery failure. If it powers up and runs from a power bank, it would confirm that the battery is bad.

    thank you - it powers up - but then right away switches itself off .....is there any hope ??

    That will depend on what other troubleshooting steps you’ve taken. If it doesn’t respond to an external power source, it appears that no power is going into the device. Try a different cable to eliminate that as an issue.

    Does your computer recognize it as a USB device? If yes then it’s not the cable and try cleaning out old activities and courses to make sure there is storage space available

    Have you tried a device reset?

    If nothing works it’s starting to look like some other hardware issue which is bad news.
