Edge 520 Auto pausing

Evening all.

I am beginning to get extremely annoyed with my Garmin 520 Edge constantly pausing. When out riding, it auto pauses more times that i can remember, plus now i have set up my turbo trainer the auto pause instantly kicks in.

I have factory reset the device, checked the sensor at the rear. Opened said sensor, cleaned it etc etc but to absolutely no avail. Before I chuck the dam thing away and move to a more reliable brand, are/has anyone else experiencing/experienced this? if so, what have you done to mitigate this annoying issue?

Did you check the Auto Pause setting in the respective profile(s). You can manually change it to any speed you want. Perhaps it's set to too high speed?

I had this but it was simply the speed sensor Magent was not close enough to the pickup as it had moved. I now don’t use the speed sensor on my new wheels and rely only on GPS for speed and seems to behave ok. Suggest trying without the magnetic pickup and only use GPS to prove out if it is a sensor issue and not the unit.

a magnetic sensor? who still uses it?
