Firmware 13.20 Garmin 520 massive battery drain

After only 2hrs, my edge goes from 100% to 5%, low battery warning and just dies.

This is only happening since the last firmware update, before that it was holding for 4-5 hrs always on.

Help!

Can confirm, a definite battery draining issue post 13.20 firmware update. How do we remedy?

I have the same issue. Just did my first long ride since the covid started, and got the battery-low warning only after about 4 hours. Would you mind sharing the link to get the battery? Thanks.

but there would be other sources eg newpower99.com or do an internet search.

I am based in the US. I find a few on the Amazon site that looks similar to what you have. I will give it a shoot.

I have the same issue few months now - battery drains to fast after 2 hours.

Hello, I have the same impression, battery drain is faster than before, moving from 6-7 hours to 5. Furthermore, for Indoor activity I have setup the screen still on; then moving to the road again I switched retro illumination to 30 sec, but the screen stays still on never switching off, reducing battery duration to less of 4 hours... what do I have to do?

The display is always on but wouldn’t be using a lot of power if the backlight is not on a high setting.

Further to an earlier post in this thread, I’ve now measured the drain with 13.2 and it’s no different to 13.0 and 12.1, so the firmware is unlikely to be an issue.

The real underlying reason for reduced run time is an ageing battery and the only solutions are battery replacement or using a USB powerbank.
