My Edge 500 cycling displayed "Timer started" today but no details of the ride have been recorded.

My Edge 500 cycling displayed "Timer started" today but no details of the ride have been recorded. This has been occuring regularly during the last 6 months or so. Unit is 8 years old.

The Edge 500 is very sensitive to the number of recorded activities saved on the 500. If you have not been clearing old activities out of the <device>:/Garmin/Activities folder on the Edge 500 then do so. Do not archive history on the Edge, copy the activities to you PC or web storage. After deleting activities be sure to (on MAC clear Trash) safely remove usb before unhooking from the PC.

Thanks Tex, I have been doing as you recommended but still details of some rides do not get recorded. Thursday & Friday rides just in past few days have recorded perfectly!!!
