Syncing to Edge 520 via Garmin Express

Suddenly Garmin Express can't write to my Edge 520. It started with User Settings (after I changed them in Garmin Connect). When I removed the device from Express and added back, it wanted to write 5 files (power zones, HR zones etc, user settings...) I get an error when it tries to do this. I can sync workout files without a problem.

I can write to a 920xt leading me to believe it is the Edge 520. \

Anyone have any ideas? Could the storage on the Edge be corrupted?

Garmin Express writes those files to a folder called NEWFILES.

try this...

Turn off Garmin Express.

Backup your NEWFILES folder.

Delete the NEWFILES folder, disconnect from computer, check…

try this...

Turn off Garmin Express.

Backup your NEWFILES folder.

Delete the NEWFILES folder, disconnect from computer, check if the folder is re-created by your Edge.

When not, make a new folder called NEWFILES yourself, disconnect from computer, connect with computer.

Start Garmin Express.

Sync

You're a legend.

The Garmin contained something called NewFiles but it wasn't a folder, it was just a file. I deleted it and replaced it with a folder as you suggested. All good.

Legend!!! You saved me from buying a new cycling computer, I was so frustrated with inability to load workouts/segments. How did you find this solution?
