Deleting all rides on Garmin Edge 130

I connected my Garmin Edge 130 to my PC and emptied the Activities file.  However, when I disconnect the 130 from my PC and then go to History/All Activities on the 130, there are still lots of rides left on the 130, but yet they don't show up in Activities when connected to my PC.  What gives????
