Garmin Edge 130 paired with Chest-Strapped HRM not providing VO2-max data

I have a Garmin Edge 130 paired with Garmin Chest-Strapped HRM.

Somehow VO2-max data is not available.

On the Edge 130 device, it was mentioned that Power Meter is needed, along with HRM, for VO2-max to be computed.

But why is Garmin watch able to compute VO2-max even though there is no power meter paired to the watch ?

For cycling VO2 max a heart rate sensor AND a power sensor is required.

For running VO2 max only HR sensor is required.
