Edge 130 Heart Rate Monitor not working and not attaching

I recently (last month) purchased a new Edge 130 with heart rate monitor as a bundle. It appeared the heart rate sensor had already been attached (as there was a number in the sensor list) but I was not getting any heart rate data on the Edge. So, I thought I would remove the sensor and reattach it. But when I put the heart rate strap on and try to attach it I get the error msg that "no sensor found". I have tried to reset the Edge but it makes no difference. Maybe the strap isn't working properly or battery flat ?? Anyone else had a similar problem?? How could you test if the strap is faulty?? Thanks

The CR2032 battery could be flat, but if the HRM is new, that is odd. Fairly inexpensive to replace.

Thanks. I did think of that but the unit is brand new. Surely the battery wouldn't be flat straight out of the box? Plus, do you think I can find a small enough Phillips head screwdriver to take the back off?? (grumble grumble)

I used a PH1 Phillips bit on my HRM-Run. If still no joy, definitely contact the Garmin Support Center as this could be a warranty replacement.
