Garmin Edge 130 Total elevation and Elevation gained

I did a ride with a know elevation gain of 500m, yet at the end of the ride Total Elevation shows 2700m on the Edge.When uploaded the correct 500m elevation gain is shown on Strava and Garmin Connect.. How can I get my Edge 130 to shown the correct elevation gain in real time on my screen? Thanks

What do you mean by "Total Elevation shows 2700m"?
(Elevation gain, loss or actual elevation?)

Elevation gain is on the screen with the elevation profile, so add a page and choose elevation profile as content.
You can also add or edit a data page and display it in a data field.
It's all in the manual.
FW v3.60 is pretty good and elevation should be OK within "several meters".
If it's not, your deice is faulty.
You can calibrate the elevation at the start manual.
Or make a waypoint for your startlocation with the correct elevation.
If you start your edge near that waypoint it automaticly uses this elevation for calibration.(this is not in the manual?)
