Map orientation is set to track up. When I have the map screen active, I notice that the text identifying the road I am riding on switches from one side of the road to the other every few seconds, and each time this happens the map flickers as it pans slightly from left to right or vice versa. For example, if I make a slight modification to an old route in Komoot, it appears as a duplicate on the Garmin Edge 1050 instead of simply overwriting the existing route with the same name. If I make another small change, it appears on the Edge a third time. Why? Also, please display the full route name. If I select a route and pick the wrong one, the list jumps back to the top when I go back. Then I have to scroll down forever again. It should just stay at the position where I was before.
Furthermore, the auto-zoom feature needs an overhaul; right now, it’s just annoying. It doesn't zoom in closer than 50m at turns. In unfamiliar towns or in the woods, that is much too far out. Please zoom in to 20m at turns—or better yet, just let us configure this setting ourselves.

Italia Garmin explorer 2 Problemi dopo aggiornamento 31.33

Dispositivo inutilizzabile dopo aggiornamento alla ultima versione 31.33.

I'd like to know if anyone else is seeing the same thing.
Device: Edge 1050
Firmware: [version]
Phone: [model / OS version]
Sensors: HRM-Pro Plus [+ others]
Symptoms:
• Bluetooth pairing with my phone is inconsistent: it connects sometimes and fails at other times, with no clear pattern.
• WiFi connection is unreliable.
• ANT+/BLE sensors, including the HRM-Pro Plus, are often not detected during pairing ("no sensors found").
What I've already tried:
• Factory reset
• Firmware verification/update
• WiFi reconfiguration
• Full Bluetooth re-pairing (removing and re-adding the device on both sides)
None of this fixed it. I've been working with Garmin Support since [date] (case #[number]) and uploaded several videos documenting the failures. Support has concluded the issue is software-related, but I still don't have an answer on whether this is a known bug, when a fix is expected, or whether beta firmware is available.
In many years of using Garmin products (including the Edge 1030 and Fenix 7) I've never experienced anything like this.
Questions:
1. Is anyone else seeing similar behavior on the Edge 1050?
2. Has anyone found a workaround?
3. Can a Garmin moderator confirm whether this is a known and tracked issue?
Happy to share videos and logs if useful.

I'm having a problem with the eat and drink reminders.

On my old Edge 530, I could set a reminder to eat and drink. This is also possible on a 1050, but the notification stays on the screen for only a very short time, and I don’t hear any sound either.

With the old Edge, I had to swipe the screen away myself, but now I often don’t see the notification and miss the moment. I mainly ride gran fondos, so nutrition is really important to me.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

I own two bikes. One e-MTB and one normal MTB. Both bikes are equipped with a SRAM AXS shifter and a powermeter. As long as I use one of these bikes everything is fine. But recently my wife started to use my eMTB to join me on some rides. As the sensors of both bikes wake-up at about the same time my Edge connects randomly to the sensors it first detects. So I need to disable the sensors of the eMTB (my wife is using) and reconnect the sensors of regular MTB I am using. Of course on my next ride with my eMTB I need to reconfigure the sensors again.

That said, it would be desirable if the activity profiles would include the option to enable/disabled the sensors connected to the unit.

My screen on my 1050 has broken...how can I replace it?

My screen on my 1050 has broken...how can I replace it?

Did something changed for the bell function

Since the beginning I disabled the sound of all the beeps and whistles.
Initially the totals for each ride type appeared to reflect the actual rides I had recorded on the device. However I have noticed that recently the distance for each profile type has been decreasing despite adding more rides.

As an example under my MTB profile I am now showing only 26 miles recorded as at today's date (see image below). But as you can then see from the two screen shots of recent rides I have MTB rides recorded of 25.04mi 30th Aug, 15.90mi 22nd Aug and then there are others during Aug and July. The same occurs for both the Road and Gravel profiles but just thought it easier to show the MTB profile as its a less prolific example.

The totals were definitely increasing after each ride in the early weeks of using the 1050 but at some point in the last few weeks that's changed.

See how small the text message is on this huge crystal clear Edge 1050 screen? Why is it bigger on my nine year old Edge 830? I called Garmin about that today, apparently there are no options for font size except on maps. My Fenix 8 has an option to make the text bigger, why not the 1050? It's sad that I can read messages on my tiny watch but not on Garmin's largest cycling GPS. I'm old (soon to be 65) and I can't read text messages unless I stop, and even then it's a struggle. I have to get my phone out most of the time. Bummer. I bought a bigger Edge thinking the font would be at least as big as the 830.

The watch is obviously inaccurate, but using the same algorithm, it shows an estimated HRmax of 196, which is true because my actual HRmax from the chest strap during FTP tests comes out to 195–196.

Today, Tuesday September 1st, my scheduled workout was:

Sprint - 53:00 - 2×14×0:10 @ 430 W

I started the workout directly from the Garmin Coach workout shown on the Edge 1050, so I did not start a generic or manually created workout.

I completed the entire workout and saved the activity normally. The activity was successfully synced to Garmin Connect and appears there as:

Sprint - 27.05 km - 54:05 - 149 W average power

However, Garmin Coach does not recognize the workout as completed.

In Garmin Connect, Tuesday still does not show the completed workout, and on the Edge 1050 itself the Training/Coach screen now shows “Rest Day” for today, while the Sprint workout is still shown as if it had never been completed.

I have already tried:

Synchronizing the Edge with Garmin Connect again

Restarting/syncing the device

Changing the activity type to “Training” and syncing again

None of this changed the workout status.

This is particularly confusing because the activity itself is clearly synced correctly and contains all the workout data. The problem seems to be specifically that Garmin fails to associate the recorded activity with the scheduled Garmin Coach workout.

What is the correct way to fix the completion status of an already completed Coach workout?

I do not want to reschedule or repeat the workout, since I have already completed it exactly as prescribed.

My Edge Firmware is up to date.

I have also seen multiple Edge 1050 firmware changelogs that specifically mention fixes for Garmin Coach issues such as workouts not showing as completed, workouts not syncing, and Garmin Coach incorrectly showing a rest day after a workout was completed.

However, I am still experiencing exactly these issues on my device. This makes it seem like the underlying problem is still not fully resolved, which, quite frankly, is pretty embarrassing for Garmin’s top of the line cycling device.

SW 32.20 saving diagnostics

The device is in its factory state—nothing non-Garmin installed, just standard maps. The only third-party app is Shimano Force Vector from the IQ Store.

Since the update, the "Saving diagnostics" message appears constantly. This happens repeatedly in the following situations:
1. When modifying my own cycling profile data screens; it won't allow me to edit or save them, even when trying to restore previous settings.
2. Upon finishing a ride, while on the "Save or Cancel" screen.
3. It is impossible to follow a route. The route was created in Connect and sent to the device using that same app. When attempting to load the route, the device kept rebooting continuously for 10 km; with each reboot, the route calculation reset to 0%. It never got past 39%, making it impossible to actually follow the route.

After transferring route to 1050, the custom cues are not spoken while on the ride but rather a generic “point approaching” is spoken.

Is there a way to transfer a RWGPS file to the 1050 where the custom cues are actually spoken out loud?
