1040 and Varia 515 Question please

In my experience with the RTL515 and both an Edge 530 and now the 1040, I always had to stop the ride completely, not pause it, for the tail light to stop flashing.  

Edit:  I should add that nothing surprises me with new Garmin units missing a lot of features of older units.  Garmin products these days are like bananas.  You buy them green and it takes a while for them to ripen into an enjoyable snack.

Thank you for replying. I was able to by pressing the power button on the 1030+ put that device to sleep and the 515 at the same time without touching the 515 so bit confused as to why this unit isn’t doing the same at the moment, not game changing but I’d like it do the same as my old unit, 

In my opinion it’s working the same like on edge 530, when I pause it’s still blinking, when I press finish and save ride it stops. 

It is forming the light night network so I can change modes, just cannot put it to sleep along with the 1040 when in paused then sleep mode. 

Morning all, anyone else had or able to replicate my issue at the top please and resolve it?

I have the same exact issue and posted about it in here. Was told to sleep the unit as someone else mentioned here, but I haven't had a chance to try that yet as all my rides since then have been straight through.

Hi, thank you for replying. My 1030+ was flawless. Al! I had to do was pause a ride then put the unit to sleep. The 515 Radar then went to sleep. The 1040 does not display the same performance so if you try the same as the 1030+ in my case it does not work, I did a clean install not importing any settings from the 1030+.it’s not a game changer but at the same time I went this to work. 

Agreed! Because I was in a social setting on a group ride, it was pretty annoying. We all stopped for food / drinks, all of our bikes leaned against various things, and there was my bike acting like a spaz blinking and beeping every time someone walked by.
