Edge 1030 Freezes whilst riding

I am running 9.10 firmware and the last few rides I've been riding and my Edge just locks up whereby all numbers stay the same, and any button pushes seem to make a noise but nothing happens, this includes the stop/start or even the power button. What I do to fix it is hold the power button and the lap button whilst riding and the Edge reboots and I can continue the ride from there. The good thing is that the ride is not lost and only the part of the ride where the device has locked up is not recorded. Is there anyone else experiencing this, any ideas to resolve? It has only really started happening recently.

  • Just worked out how to review the error log, here is the debug at the time of the issue and there are about 4 or 5 files that show the same information, I have no idea what it means but not sure if anyone can help? I assume the best way to solve this is call Garmin?

  • I have similar issue, same symptoms in debugging log. Seems this is happening when driving a course or routing on some side-loaded maps (based on OSM) - this seem no to happen using Garmin maps (which are however barely usable comparing to the OSM export)
