EDGE 1030 -V. 8 -higher battery consumption

Dear all,

Does anyone feels that the EDGE 1030 firmware 8 has a higher battery consumption ?

After V8 installation, I noticed that the battery is not holding as longs as before. It would not surprise me, assuming all the additional processes running on the background....

I have the same experience.Now in economy mode only 2 days, before 4 days.I don't use any sensors, no phone connected, just navigation

Thanks for the reply....So effectively garmin screw up the best feature of the device, in my opinion

I'm thinking you are correct with this. I was getting 5%-6% per hr. usage in v7.5. Now seems to be 8% per hour. That's down from about 18-20 hrs. of use in non-navigation mode to about 12 hrs. That would be a bad thing. I'll keep monitoring.

I'm losing around 10% per hour, but that's with a radar, a Humon Hex, a powertap, a Wahoo Tickr, a remote, a connection to the phone, and a couple of IQ fields in addition to Humon Interval. Those are Xert MPA, Xert TTE, and Xert Segment Hunter.

Screen brightness set to 100%.

I think this is about what I was getting before.

I have no evidence to corroborate this, but I must confess that on several occasions since I installed v8, I have thought "I'm sure that the battery charge has dropped more quickly than usual". Still get a decent amount of use per charge though I think.

Seems hit and miss. I did 2:09 of riding today, started at 77%, went down to 67%. 10%, = 5% hr., = 20 hrs. of battery life.
