Galileo or GLONASS? Which is more accurate?

GPS+Galileo provides the best accuracy. I use this since it is available on the 1030, and it can detect if i'm cycling on the left or right on a path. Accuracy will be <1 meter when finished (somewhere 2020)

For me, here in Spain, Galileo has the very best accuracy.

It appeared to me GPS+Galileo menu is not present in 1030. I have the 8.x software in that. I thought it is HW dependent as well. Are you able to switch to that option?

Have you connected your edge to a computer & synced it with Garmin Express since updating the F/W on your Edge?

the GPS firmware is old on your device, that is the reason... update it via Garmin Express on PC (sometimes the update files are corrupted on device and couldnt update itself, check them and delete on Edge from a file manager) 

Yes, that may be. It's a challenge since I don't use windows nor MacOS. I need to find an alternative installation process.

I install only whatever is coming via WIFI. I do not have windwows nor MacOS. I use only linux. :) I will check what to do. Thanks for the idea.

There was a statement in the release notes for the 6.43 firmware that originally included the Galileo support, which said

"Sync the device with Garmin Express to make sure that the new line of GPS firmware is provided to the device. Without this, the option will not be available."
