Recalculation is useless

I had to change planned course (mostly due road works) a few times, but even after a few km, Edge still navigated me to do U-turn and go back. I think its, because it cannot recalculate to next course point and when I joined planned course a few km further it did not advice me to continue the course but sent me back to previous point. When It was rarely able to recalculate a course in the past, Edge used still elevation graph for original course and therefore there was not dot for my position displayed - it is definitely bug.
I have had a few times problem with V-shape junctions - there was no turn prompt. So I have to stop, go from data screen to map screen in order to know where to go.

I cannot confirm that recalculation is useless. I did many tests where I left the course to see what happens.
One example I posted in the German forum. If you don‘t speak German: there is a series of screenshots which show what my Edge did - and everytime he did it very well:

I checked that thread and your screenshots and its interesting how differently recalcualtion func works on your Edge compare to mine. Only reason, that cross my mind, could be used map. I use purchased TOPO map (more than 100euros). What map do use use? I will try one of preinstaled maps - OSM Europe, Garmin Cycle maps.

In my example I used OpenMTBmap-Europe (part: Alps).
I must admit, I never tried another map.

I forgot to ask you: when you get course recalculated is elevation graph recalculated too and you you show your moving dot on graph? thanks

Anyway - if I‘m back on the course, elevation profile and red dot work!

When i join orginal course again, my dot on elevation graph becomes active and works, but when course is recalculated graph is shown for original course, where Iam obviously not on, so it doesnt show my position.
