I have an Edge 1030 Plus and Vivoactive 5 watch. Previously both notify contacts for live tracking of my activities. Two days ago i upgraded to the Garmin pro app. I sent out permission texts to my contacts and received their acceptances back. I ran a test on the watch and it worked. Today having tried several times on the watch and the Edge, recipients are not receiving the text to watch my live tracking. I turned off the Edge and the iphone and restarted both, but to no avail. Anyone else had this glitch?

fazua data fields not activating

Hello

I know this has been previously raised as an issue, however I cannot find any answer when the device is out of warranty.

The tab on the rear of my Garmin Edge 1030 (not Plus model) has just broken in the same way. No longer under warranty. Is there now a replacement part available? The rear of the device seems to be sealed? The device fortunately is still fully functioning.

It probably wasn't the case for you but some 3rd party mounts are too thin so the Edge can be rocked a little by hand due to a tiny gap between the top of the bike mount and the flat part of the Edge main body, which puts extra stress on the tabs. So when you hit a bump it will eventually cause them to crack and fail. That's what did for mine when I hit a cattle grid.

I fixed mine with one of the plastic replacement mounts, which has been fine for over a year now. I also made sure that any 3rd party bike mounts I had didn't have any gaps between the Edge and the bike mount

I have found a solution that is working well for me. It a replacement mount made from Aluminium that screws onto the old / damaged original mount. Seems very secure. Not cheap, but cheaper than a new Garmin device! Link below.

It wasn't a Garmin holder, but it's a branded one.

About 2 months ago Alistair Brownlee and his mate crashed into me when they came round a blind corner too fast on a cycle/foot path. As well as knocking me over they knocked my computer off so it was dangling from the cord. I guess that may have caused a fracture in the tab, then it's slowly got worse until it popped off when i hit the pothole.

It's so frustrating though, as although it's 6 yrs old I havent used it that much, so it still works perfectly and has lots of life left in it.

I guess I will have to try the dogears way to fix it and see how it goes.

I wouldn't bother with a 3d print tab mount the ones I've tried were very fragile

I have the same issue 5 days ago. My computer jumped off after hitting a pot hole and tabs were broken on one side.
I've been looking online and it seems like the dogears idea of screwing something to the back hasn't been very successful for some people and it has just come off and then theyve had to try gluing it with epoxy resin.

I had an idea of creating something (3D printed) that would grip the sides of the computer and incorporates the mount as one. But I have no experience or the capabilities to 3D print.

This is similar to my idea (the blue one), but instead of having the clip on the back it would have the mount printed on it.

I am trying to verify if my 1030 only has US maps or includes any UK/Europe maps.

However, following the instructions to verify this my 1030 does not show an option for map manager directly on the device or in Garmin Express?

Edge 1030 plus transfer not saving in Basecamp

I can plug in my 1030 plus and the computer (running Windows 11 Home) recognizes my device.

I can start Basecamp and see my device.

I can receive data from my device into Basecamp (with green checkmark).

I can backup my device; Basecamp backup was successful.

When I go to shutdown Basecamp I get a long error message saying the external component has thrown an exception (I sent the error report to Garmin)

After restarting Basecamp, during initialization, Basecamp states in cannot load the following areas: List data file.

If I cancel the fix Basecamp shuts down; if I fix the data, it says data could be lost. In either instance the data is lost and the List data file error returns and there is no data in my Basecamp library.

I did open properties for my device and saw the following but don’t know how to proceed:

Device settings for USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_Garmin&Prod_GARMIN_Flash&Rev_1.00\9&2f8fa7e6&6 were not migrated from previous OS installation due to partial or ambiguous device match.

Mapping issues with Edge 1030

My Edge 1030 has a number of courses on it which I have used regularly with no issues. Recently when I start riding a course, the instructions--turn right in 50 meters, etc.--have stopped appearing. When I activate the map on the screen the map initially shows the previous position for when it was last opened and, after a few seconds, the map updates to the current position with the appropriate direction marker. Thus it seems when the screen switches off the map is not updating in the background and is therefore not providing the necessary route prompts when required. Any suggestions?

how to increase font size only for name of the cities without increasing name of streets or landmarks?
goal to setup large size for cities, small size for everything else.
without programing, setup advanced app, just from menu.

if i will try just to increase all font sizes, on small scale (20-50meter) will be a total mess when riding in the city. font become too big for small space and its total unusable.

on 500m only name of city aprea and its good. but its in small size and super difficult to see it

on 300m streats apear but name of city disapear

on 200m streats and city. but so small that its imposible to read it especially on moving / shaking bike.

I have two Garmin Edge 1030+. I think I used to have them both paired with my phone (OnePlus 15), but now I can only pair one at a time. is that the normal behaviour?

I recently acquired a second 830 & they are both paired to my phone, so I don't see any reason it's not working for you .

it's not clear - the two paragraphs in the linked page appear contradictory. My use case is one phone, bikes in two different locations, each location has an Edge 1030+ So it's only one user's data (mine) but I have two homes, bikes in each location and I don't take my Edge with me when I travel between them, just my phone. I don't need the Connect app to connect to two Edge devices at once, just the one that happens to be in range - but I don't think I've been able to get it to do that (should it work?) I *think* that i can use the app on each Edge in turn to configure the WiFi connection to each home, and that should allow it to sync to Strava via WiFi. I don't care about the data in the Connect app - I'm only trying to get the data into Strava.
