15.30 GPS Accuracy Issues

I have had continued accuracy issues since the 15.30 update, in both GPS and GPS+Glonass modes. Sometimes there's no acquisition at all, sometimes intermittent and generally a few meters out (enough to be forever "Off Course" when following a route).

Is anyone else having issues? Any potential solutions?

This is getting very frustrating and makes me nervous to set out following a new course for fear of no GPS.

  • Please verify that your GPS firmware version is at 5.31.03

You can check this by selecting Tools>System>About>Copyright Information the GPS Version will be listed towards the top of the page.

If your device has not been updated please sync your device using Garmin Express. Please reach out to us at support.garmin.com if you are still having issues.

  • Verified my GOS firmware is 5.31.03.

I'll get in touch with support.

  • After speaking with support, this is what resolved the accuracy issues:

    • Connect the Edge to a PC
    • Delete all files in /Garmin/RemoteSW/ (mine was already empty)
    • Delete /Garmin/Garmindevice.xml
    • Restart device
    • Connect to Garmin Connect (I did by Bluetooth) to allow it to sync.

It took a couple of rides over a few days for the GPS to get back to normal accuracy, but it got there in the end.
