Anybody else seeing database subscription weirdness lately?

My "US VFR Plus Database Bundle" (the $50/year sub) seems to have just spontaneously disappeared.

The last databases in my G3X Touch expired just a week ago, but when I go to GADM it says I have no subscription and no databases.

When I log onto the Garmin site, it thinks my last sub expired in May of 2024 (!). Yet I was getting databases as recently as a a month ago, and I was on auto-renew. There's no sign of that on Garmin's web site - as if I never had it (at least since 2024).

I did a chat with support and they just gave me a 1 year IFR subscription for free to stop my complaints, but without any explanation as to what happened.

That's nice and appreciated, but am I the only one whose sub just went poof?

I just had similar thing happen. My databases autorenewed in Feb, but Aviation DB Manager shows no subscription so I can't download/update. I have reinstalled AvDB manager and that didn't fix it.

It's easy to say "give our support a call", but I'm currently on hold for that and it says an hour and a half! That's not reasonable.

Garmin G5 + GAD 13+ Davtron C307PS

Hello,

I recently installed a Garmin G5.
I’ve also fitted a GAD13 and a Davtron C307PS for the OAT.

Everything was installed correctly according to the fitting instructions, but the G5 isn’t displaying the OAT.

I’ve attached a few photos below.
I don’t own any other Garmin devices, so the existing CAN cable would need to be disconnected.

Loading approach after destination

When I enter a flight plan in the GPS 175 and select/load an approach, the approach is loaded after the destination airport. How do I make the approach appear before the destination?

I finally had a chance to try this yesterday. I had entered a simple flight plan, E14-KLAM. When I activated the approach to KLAM, the flight plan disappeared and all that showed was the the approach waypoints, no destination. And perhaps because E14 is not far from KLAM, the 175 took me direct to the FAF, not the IAF as usual.

I have two sets of cards for my GNS 530W, and the TERRAIN on one card just stopped working. I am still able to update the OBSTACLES on this card, although my last attempt gave me an error after receiving the success notification that "An issue occurred notifying flyGarmin about this update/installation". I have 2 TAWS/terrain data cards for my GNS 430W. Today, I tried to update the obstacle database, and Garmin Database Manager won't recognize the cards-- the yellow light is on the programmer, and the card name flashes briefly on the screen repeatedly for both cards. iwas able to easily update my navigation data card. I have seen discussions on other forums of a data card repair utility for terrain cards. Where can I find this?

Hello,

When you load an approach, you will want to activate it in order for it to appear before the destination airport. If you load the approach then it will appear after the destination airport. I hope this helps!

SouthPAN SBAS Compatibility

The SouthPAN GNSS augmentation service (SBAS) covering Australia and NZ is currently planned to be certified for safety-of-life applications in 2028. Is there any way of knowing which models of Garmin's WAAS aviation receivers will properly support SouthPAN once it becomes available? I expect that any current models would work just fine, but I haven't been able to find any definitive information on the Garmin website.
If some sort of enablement is required, would it also be available on Garmin's legacy products, eg. 400W/500W series or GNS480/CX80?
Would standalone position sources used for ADS-B, eg. GPS20A or GTX345 need a firmware update?

Hi Bryan! Thank you for being patient while we upgrade our forums. Excellent job providing photos! After reviewing your photos, I noticed your GFC 500 does not indicate AP is on nor NAV mode being selected. This could definitely result in your autopilot not functioning as you're expecting it to. Try doing so the next time you fly, and if the issue is still present, please contact your installer of the autopilot for further troubleshooting, as it might require some further examination.

I can’t get NAV mode to work for a GPS track. It will work when tracking to a VOR. This used to work, but I’m new to the setup so may be something simple I’m doing wrong. HDG and TRK mode works just fine. Can anyone see what I’m doing wrong? Thanks

GTN 750 Import Flightplan from Skydemon

Hi folks,

the C172 which I charter has a build-in GTN750

I personally use skydemon for planing.

I know that it´s possible to import the created flightplans into the GTN750 (not XI)

For that, you shoud export the flightplan in Skydemon to the root of an SD-Card.

I tried both, the original database SD-Card from Garmin an empty on.

The you should insert the SD-CArd, power up the 750, hit the "flightplan" butten, then menu, the catalog, then menu again and there should be an "Import" Button, but in my case, there are just the "delete all" and the "delete pending" buttons.

Where is my error?

Main Software Version is 6.73

GPS Software 8.3

Com Software 2.30

NAV Software 6.03

Any solutions?

After importing a trip from Autorouter Garmin Pilot says the the trip must be validated before filing is possible, but I can´t find the the function "Validate" on the trip planning page. Can someone help?

Has anyone had any problems with a GNX 375 that was installed in late 2025 having power failure issues? I had an airplane leave the shop and had flown for a little over 5 hours (multiple flights) and had a screen blackout on them while taxing back to parking. Then the screen would try to reboot but kept blacking out like a boot error would.

I'm toying with the possibility of purchasing the subscription for Garmin Pilot. I used the app, on a trial basis, last October but it would not link with my Lynx L3 ADS-B. Would anyone know if the app is now compatible with the Lynx?

Thank you for replying. It is no longer an issue at this particular airport, but I recommend that you test for this type of problem in your test scenarios. The specific problem that was encountered was that the main runway was clearly closed, but when planning a flight to this airport, this runway was recommended as the "best RWY" to land on.
I tried both Foreflight and iFlyGPS and these apps did not recommend this runway.

Over the last few days, Runway 17R/35L at Ellington Airport (KEFD) has been closed.

I was surprised to see that when looking at the airport details, the suggested runway to use for the wind conditions was 17R, which is currently CLOSED!
Yet runway 17L next to is open (although shorter).

The graphical diagram of the airport does correctly show the runway in RED, indicating that it is closed.

Why would there be such an important safety-related inconsistency?

Flew with another in his plane, had G530W. On map page noticed blue triangles and squares. Yes, triangles are intersections, but blue boxes were many and distracting. They would be removed on final declutter step, but couldn't find how to remove on map page setup.

any ideas? thank you
