Garmin D2 Mach 2 LOST ALL DATA

Hello All,

I bought a D2 Mach 2 last Monday and was able to use it for 3 flights without any problem. But this morning, when I took the watch, all the aviation data were gone, maps, airfields, waypoints, absolutely all.

I tried to power off/on the watch, no result.

Then I tried to reset the watch, in the hope that all missing infos/files would be downloaded again, something has been downloaded for 6 hours, but I don't know what. So I looked into airfields (still empty), nearest (empty), then I looked into golf courses (this is ok, I can see the courses). So my problem is only aviation related

When I look to the aviation base I see Navigation cycle 2605, and displays that it is up to date when trying to reload.

What can I do to make this device work again for aviation ?

D2 Mach 2 - update aviation database doesn't work

hello all,

first of all - please excuse me for my poor English (I'm German and 64 years old ;-) )...

I got my D2 Mach 2 at April 1st, the version of the aviation database is cycle 2602. WLAN is on, automatc update is on. As far as I know, the current version of the aviation database is cycle 2604 (since April 9th). When searching for database updates manually, the message appears, that no updates are available. Did anyone here get a newer version of the database? If yes, how to do the update?

Dear Garmin Aviation and Garmin Connect Team, I would like to submit a feature request regarding the Fly activity on the D2 Mach 1 and the way historical flight data is presented both on the watch and in the Garmin Connect app.

When I review historical flights, I currently see health-oriented metrics such as heart rate and heart rate zones. In the context of most flights, this information has very limited operational value, because the pilot is typically seated in the cockpit and the activity is not being evaluated as a fitness effort.

For flight review purposes, I believe it would be far more useful if the historical Fly activity emphasized aviation-relevant parameters instead. In particular, I would suggest prioritizing the following data fields: Vertical speed, Ground speed, Altitude relative to terrain / height above ground, when terrain data is available and Heading.

These parameters would provide substantially more meaningful post-flight insight than heart-rate metrics for pilots reviewing a flight. They would help users better understand climb and descent behavior, aircraft energy management, terrain awareness, and directional control during different phases of flight. My suggestion is to remove heart-rate information completely, to allow aviation-specific metrics to replace or take priority over fitness metrics within the Fly activity summary and historical flight review screens.

Ideally, this improvement would be implemented in both places: On the D2 Mach 1 watch and In the Garmin Connect app.

From a pilots perspective, the Fly activity should present post-flight information in a way that reflects the operational nature of aviation, rather than the fitness-oriented logic used for running, cycling, or other exercise activities.

Aviation users would likely benefit from having a dedicated post-flight review profile in Garmin Connect, where aviation metrics are treated as primary and physiological fitness data as secondary or optional.

Thank you for your continued development of the D2 aviation ecosystem. I hope you will consider this enhancement, as it would make the Fly activity significantly more useful for pilots.

The heart rate zone are useless

Garmin Pilot & D2 Mach 2 no Flightplan Sync

Title: Flight plan sync between Garmin Pilot and D2 no longer working

Hi everyone,

since recently the Flight Sync between Garmin Pilot and my Garmin D2 seems to have stopped working. Flight plans are no longer synchronized to the watch.

What I already checked:

- The connection between the watch and Garmin Connect works normally.
- Garmin Connect and the D2 are both connected correctly.
- iPhone and apps were restarted.
- Garmin Pilot and Garmin Connect are updated to the latest versions.
- I also reloaded all databases in Garmin Pilot.

Despite all of that, no flight plans are transferred to the D2 anymore.

Before this it worked reliably, so something must have changed recently.

Has anyone experienced the same issue or found a solution?
Is there a setting or reset step I might be missing?

D2 Mach 2 - software 21.27 - Crash During Run

D2 Mach 2 - crashed 24 minutes into a run, and took a couple of minutes to restart.

Data there show's the break where it happened.

This is something new that is happening as running 5-6 days a week, following the Garmin training plans and listening to Spotify during the runs.

Looks like others in the Fenix forum are having similar issues.

D2 Mach 2 showing false wind on weather radar

My new D2 Mach 2 is showing false wind direction and velocity on the factory weather radar/map app. The METAR/TAFs are showing correct conditions, as well as the weather widget for both local weather and airport weather. Also, temperature, cloud and precipitation readings on the weather radar seem to be correct.

Anyone have any idea why this info is off?

For what it's worth, current actual winds are 16006KT at the airport (as shown in the METAR report and weather widget) and 180 at 8kt local, but the radar is showing roughly 040 at 11kt (both local and at the airport).

Stealth mode problem in D2 Mach 2

Hi,

Stealth mode isn't working on my D2 Mach 2.
I've done several activities, activating stealth mode before starting and then deactivating it afterward for syncing with Garmin Connect. I could see my entire route with the track and map, and the same for all my contacts! Before, with my old Tactix 7, the GPS track didn't appear. There's a major privacy issue; stealth mode doesn't work at all!

The problem should be fixed in the next version of the software.

Please bring back, or make a variant of the D2 Mach 1 watch face for D2 Mach 2! Then inability to have the aviation weather and additional data fields on the face of the watch is really frustrating! 51mm of beautiful space and no way to add some extra intel around the ring/bezel is disappointing.

Problem creating routes on the watch

Hy,

I'm having a problem with my D2mach2. I can't create a route directly from the watch when trying to create waypoints using the map! When I'm on the map, no button allows me to select the chosen position by swiping my finger on the map. The only active button is the back button, so the chosen waypoint isn't saved! I think it is a bug !!!!!

Flying Activity vspd and GS Data unavailable on Tactix 8

Since about 2 Updates the vspd and gs are — on the flying activity, anyone else noticed this or is there a workaround? The Data collected and displayed in the connect app are just fine after the flight.

D2 Pilot Watch with Garmin Connect - Export to KML does not include altitude data

I have the Garmin D2 Pilot Watch and have that connected to Garmin Connect. When I do an "Export to KML" for Google Earth, the <altitudeMode> tag is set as <clampToGround>. Seems that since the D2 is collecting Altitude data, and that data shows accurately in Garmin Connect, that I should be able to "Export" the file and have the ability to include the <absolute> altitude in that export.

Attached are files from the GUI and the KML export file. KML export file shows all <altitudeMode> tags are set to <clampToGround>. GUI image shows that altitude was properly captured.

My intention for using this KML is to build a safety video illustrating the proper altitudes and flight paths for incoming pilots to use on their approach.

As a note, I am a beta tester for the Garmin Pilot program.

METAR information on D2 Air X10

Does anyone with a D2 Air X10 outside of the US get useful METAR info on their watch?

I am in New Zealand and cannot get any weather info except for the bigger international airports. Regional airports with officially published METAR's don't give any weather data on the watch.

How does one get this information on the watch.

The watch recognises them as an airport and gives bearing and distance but no weather info.

Within last month my D2 Air X10 watch has started blocking Verification codes sent by different apps to my phone. It didn't do that in the past and I don't want them blocked. How do I disable this feature?

Why is the approach procedure not sent with the flightplan to the Garmin D2 Mach 1 Pro?

Hello, I have the problem that the approach prodedure waypoints are missing when sending a flightplan from the Garmin Pilot App to the Garmin D2 Mach 1 Pro. I think it would be very handy to have a feedback from my watch when I apporach these waypoints. For depature and arrival procedures it is working and sent to the watch. Further tipps would be very appriciated.

Marq Aviator Gen1 lazy sensors

Until recently, the sensors of my 2020 Marq aviator are only working a few minutes a day, without notice. No explanation. I did everything I possibly coud do: factory reset, latest update...

I called customer service who were unable to help me out. Is it something someone has experienced? This is very disappointing for a more than 2k watch... Thanks!

Barometer & altitude

While at the airport KBDU (03.27.25 @ 2215Z) I calibrated the barometer using DEM resulting in the correct altitude 5285. I then set barometric pressure to the airport METAR 29.86. The D2 Mach I is connected via Bluetooth. Within a few minutes the pressure changes to 29.96 and the altitude is 5378. This happens every time with similar spreads.

Garmin D2 Air X10

Good day,

I have a Garmin D2 Air X10 that I bought about 6 months ago and I have been struggling for a while now to get any weather information on my watch and I am running out of ideas how to fix it.

I have attached four images that will hopefully help to explain the problem.

First of all on my permanent watch face I have zero weather information like I used to have. When I go onto the METAR or TAF pages, there is also zero information. When I go into the page with my favourite airport, all the information about the airport and it's frequencies, runway information etc. are the except the weather which does not make a lot of sense. When I then exit that page, I get these red exclamation marks.

I hope the explanation makes sense and I will really appreciate any assistance with this.

Hello!

I need for help....

Incorrect display of the planned route. For example, I create a new route from KJFK to KIAD (Navigation -> Flight Planning -> Saved Plans->Create New and add via Search by Ident). The new flight plan always displays the length - 0.0 nm. When I select Set Active and fly - the watch does not want to follow the route. On the waypoint page, there is no point name, no DTK, no distance... Similarly, if me select Direct To and enter a point, the watch does not fly to the point.But on a map and HSI - all correct. I did a factory reset and a master reset - nothing changed.

I'm not sure, but I think it happened after updating the software to version 27.00.
I also noticed that the Data and ExtData folders are missing from my Garmin folder. I read on the forum that they are supposed to be. When you try to create folders manually, the watch does not allow you to do it. Creates any folder with any name, but not these. Maybe it is somehow related?

Who has the Marq Aviator Gen 1 watch? Is everything working correctly for you? And do you have Data and extData folders in the Garmin folder?

D2 Mach 1 pro - Sleep mode and Fly activity

I would like to talk about an issue of sleep mode setting. We all know that we're able to set our sleeping time through garmin app and our watch will switch to sleep mode whenever the time has come. However, it's not practical since many of us don't sleep or wake at the same period time everyday. For pilots, our worktime varies by different planned schedule. Normally, when the plane take off, the watch will automatically start the fly activity. This is no doubt a very great design by reducing our workload or maybe sometimes we just forget to start the activity for during takeoff and landing is our busiest and most critical phase of the flight. BUT! Like I mentioned earlier, the watch won't turn off sleep mode unless is your setting wake time or by manual. For example, my wake time sets at 0800, but my flight starts at 0600. Therefore, the watch will completely miss out the 2 hours flight record, and not to mention that I already wake up at 0400. It is so bizarre that the watch can't sense I'm already awake since I keep moving and it's clearly not a sleeping person will do. I understand that it won't take much time to manually do all the settings, but if it can be done automatically, why not? and I ensure you that this thoughtful design will be highly appreciated.
