Hello,

Below are the instructions on how to create a boundary on your aera 660 in BaseCamp.

1. Connect your aera 660 to your computer and open up BaseCamp

2. Create a new folder in BaseCamp

3. Select "New Track"

4. Click on "Device"

5. Then send to your aera 660

6. On your aera 660 open "tools"

7. Click on "Track Log"

8. Then select the track that you created on BaseCamp. The boundary will appear as a line on your aera 660.

I would like to add custom local features, such as my operations area boundary, to the base map of my AAERA660. This is just needed as a visual reference on the map, not for navigation purposes. Can anyone assist with a way of doing this? Thanks

My D2 Delta PX failed to update Aviation Database over wifi

It’s failed to update the aviation database over WiFi every time. I can only update it by the cable. However my access to a computer is limited.

Please advise

I’ve done all these long ago, the network at home is one of the 1000 Mbps fibre networks, and through WiFi 7 indoor at close range. It’s only the Garmin D2 Delta PX not working with the database updates.
Software is newest and I have my account long ago, I have been using USB to update.

Hello! I would ensure that you have the latest software version for your D2 Delta PX.

Please also consider the strength and stability of your WiFi network and these steps in the owner's manual (on page 1 of the following owner's manual: static.garmin.com/.../D2%20Delta%20OM=3=8.3x11_OM_Web_PDF=EN-US.pdf) detailing how to update the aviation database:

Updating the Aviation Database

Before you can update the aviation database, you must create a Garmin® account and add your device. You can view your unit ID on the device information screen (Viewing Device Information, page 35). The aviation database is valid for 28 days at a time and includes worldwide airport locations, navigational aids, and intersection data.

1) Go to www.flyGarmin.com.

2) Log in to your Garmin account.

3) Select an option:

• Connect your device to a computer using the included USB cable.

• Connect your device to a Wi‑Fi® wireless network.

4) Follow the on-screen instructions to update the aviation database.

When your device is connected to a Wi‑Fi wireless network, database updates are downloaded automatically overnight.

Hi 2202835 , any new database cycle or region will overwrite the previously installed database.

My 296 currently has US maps.

if I go ahead and purchase European maps for the device, will they overwrite the current database? Or if not, is there enough capacity in the device for both?

Aera 660 05SEP24 updates not installing

I’ve tried using the Garmin USB cable and FlyGarmin on my Mac. I’ve tried updating via WiFi. I’ve tried re-installing Software Version 4.00.

When I restart, it’s shows updated and current databases. After I “Press To Accept” I get “Database Installation Ready, Databases are ready to install. Dismiss, View, Install”.

Then I’m in a never-ending loop and unable to get these databases installed.

Is there a hard reset for the Aera 660? I own two of them and the other has updated with no problems.

If you're still having this issue, try these reset steps to see if that resolves this problem:

At boot, hold power button until "READY" appears
Touch and hold the Garmin logo before releasing the power button
Unit is held in boot block until finger is lifted from logo

when you hit dismiss, does the prompt go away? if it's showing current databases when you turn it on, that means the databases are already installed on the unit
