Why aren't my text notifications working?

I've looked into this a bit, and am wondering why I don't get text notifications on my Instinct. I unpaired my Instinct and my iPhone XR, re-paired them, and it still isn't working. I know I can't reply to texts with my Instinct, and that's fine, but I would like to see them. Thanks for any help!

This was solved for me today via the Garmin help chat. I was receiving all phone notifications except text notification on an iPhone Xs.

Verify watch configuration: Settings > Phone > Smart Notifications…

I found that on my iPhone I had to go to settings -> notifications -> set ‘show previews’ to ‘always‘ -> AND THEN on the same screen go down to -> messages -> Then set ‘show previews‘ to ‘always’…

There is no menu option on the top left on the connect app. Is the menu option else where ?

They *** up smart notifications in the last software update. See my post on smart notifications not working anymore.

I figured it out. Once you set the notification settings on your Garmin Instinct you need to user the Garmin Connect app. Go to the menu on the top left, then settings, then smart notifications, and select which apps you want to receive notifications from. Then exit and sync.

Other than powering your Instinct and smartphone on and off then ensuring you show paired and can successfully sync through your Connect Mobile APP on your Android or iPhone, please go through this article to address your issue - My Garmin Device Is Not Receiving Smart Notifications From My Phone

I’ve got the instinct tactical and the iPhone SE 2ed gen. to fix the issue I had to go to Bluetooth settings on the phone, click on the watch, then the little “I” icon, then click share system notifications. This pushed texts and other notifications to the watch.

Thanks for all the comments! I’m the one who asked the original question. I’ve tried everything - I even got a new iPhone 11 (for a different reason) and I still haven’t figured it out!! I get notifications of a phone call, an Amazon package coming in, and my Connect App syncing, but I cannot get it to show at text notification! Anyway, it’s not something I’d use everyday, but it is frustrating. I’ll keep looking for answers!

Mate I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and I’m having the same issue with my 6x pro. Not even find my phone function works. Works on the watch just not the phone.
