Solar Instinct Crashing randomly

When trying to start an activity, the watch just crashes. Also noticed that it was crashing everytime i would get a notification from my phone. Turned smart notifications off, seemed to help for a day then just started crashing at random times.

Have already done full resets and software updates...

I have found the solution while scraping though the entire known internet.

Turn off Vibrate. This fixes the issue.

MENU button ( long press)

ABC button to SETTINGS : GPS button to enter menu

The watch is playing up whenever i try to track activity (eg: hike, swim, cycle etc), it will crash, turn off and only able to be restarted when plug in to charge. Moreover the time on display is always wrong even after sync, manual set and GPS time.

i have tried troubleshooting, including clearing data and factory reset but still doesnt works. could anyone advice what should i do?

Welcome in the club m8, i suggest you pick up a huge hammer and smash it, the only fun you are going to have with your watch from now on. I gave up hoping for an update or solution provided by garmin. More and more ppl are having this problem, but who cares if you have a monopoly position.

I started having the issue while it was still under warranty. Will Garmin replace it since the issue was reported at that time (under warranty) and continues to be a problem?

Tried contacting support. They want me to send the watch back, pay $140 dollars and then wait for them to have another "retail item" in stock. Not sure why I need to pay $140 for something I already paid over $400 for that doesn't do what it's supposed to be doing and clearly its becoming a regular occurrence

I have tried everything posted here to no avail. I fully charged it today, started the Biking activity and about 2 minutes later it shutdown. I turned around, grabbed my Apple Watch series 3 and went for an hour bike ride. The Apple has never let me down. Bye bye Garmin.

I do not understand why they do not moderate this forum, it is a Garmin forum, they should come up with some answers.

I was so in love with the watch that i was willing to buy the new instinct 2X, but it was not available for a while.

So i bought a Amazfit T-REX 2. For 200 eur the specs of a Garmin Fenix with an amoled screen. I do not want the 2X anymore.

In combination withe the zepp app ( garmin connect) this offers a lot.

Use also the Amazfaces app and you have hundreds very high quality watch faces.

This seems to fix the issue, maybe the vibration uses too much battery?

I will try in the following days and keep you posted.
