Failed save and cannot force sync

Download the resepctive FIT file from the folder //GARMIN/Activity, and try repairing it by passing it through the Section Remover (without removing anything) at the FIT File Repair Tools website. Import the resulting file at connect.garmin.com/.../import-data

Thanks trux, handy set of tools on that site, nice! That partially worked and I am guessing now that with the extended pause I had (I used the "resume later" function for the first time on this ride), the file got partially corrupted? On my watch in the history it correctly displayed the full mileage of the activity, but in the .fit file that you just helped me recover, only a portion was saved, and oddly was not at an intentional stop either. There is not a separate .fit file at least in the Activity folder. I'm not expecting that you will have additional tools or tricks and am accepting this is lost, but that's my follow up and will try something else if you have suggestions. Thanks again.

If you can zip your problematic FIT file and insert it into your post, we can dig a little deeper to see if more of your ride can be recovered.

Looks like a stop event at 29:10 into the ride and not started again until 1:12:57. Then no stop event to end the ride. FFRT gives the message "The recording ended abruptly and without the expected summary records. Probably data records at the end of the recording are missing." How long was this ride supposed to be?

There are no timestamps or any positional data after that..

Both Fit File Repair Tool and  FIT File Tools give the same information - 3.01 miles.

Thanks for investigating. On my watch the History displays a total of 1:27:36 and 7.35 miles, which seems about right. The ride was stopped at the end, because it displayed "failed." There could definitely be user error confounding other errors (user = me, stopping and starting multiple times), mostly I just want to know what happened so this doesn't occur again.
