Solar charging not working?

Hi all,

Lovely watch, almost 2 weeks on and since yesterday I've noticed Solar Intensity has no activity. I left the watch for a good while on sun and nothing.

It was on FW 9.40 and I pushed it up to 9.97 beta but unfortunately the same. Of course restarted, reset the watch, set it up from scratch - still nothing.

Hi,

You said you went onto chat with Garmin Support. How can I do that ? I am trying to fix the problem with a french retailer and they still did not provide a solution.

Is there a link you can send me please ?

Hi,

Please use chat option available on Garmin website here. You will talk to a tech person. Describe the problem and provide serial number of your watch. I did it and without much diving into the issue I was offered a replacement. A new case will be opened, you will follow instructions and send the unit back to Garmin in France (I guess) Once their confirm they received a brand new unit will be sent back to you. FYI I got a new unit after about a week.

I have the same problem. I contacted garmin customer service, they made me do a hard reset, delete the chronology and update to version 10.10 but does not work. I await a new reply from customers service...

Out of interest: If this is a colour version of the Solar, is the printed lettering on the display the same colour, or grey?

Hello I have same problem with solar charging.My watch does not charge under the sun. I bought my watch 8 days ago. I tried soft and hard reset and nothing works.

Même problème.

Appel du SAV qui prend en charge le retour et l'envoie d'un boîtier neuf.

En espérant la même réactivité du SAV pour le retour de ce dernier.

I am sorry you are having an issue with your watch. Please reach out to your regional Outdoor Product Support if your Instinct Solar is not solar charging.
