Sleep Coach

Hello,

I recently got a Garmin INSTINCT 3 AMOLED 45mm.
Software version: 9.21

This model offers the Sleep Coach feature, which appears on my watch.

However, on my phone, in the GARMIN CONNECT app, I can't find any mention of the Sleep Coach feature.

I expected to find this feature under "Health Stats/Sleep/Sleep Score," where there should be a second tab, "Sleep Coach."
But there's nothing in my app.

I should point out that Garmin Connect has the latest update.

Does anyone have any ideas for an explanation?

Is this due to the watch model (very recent)?

Perhaps this is planned for a future Garmin Connect update?

Thank you for your help.
  • TBH, I do not bother much about the Sleep Coach feature, finding it rather useless, but the documentation at Sleep Coach Feature on Garmin Watches | Garmin Customer Support states the following:

NOTE: Sleep Coach will never recommend less than 7 hours of sleep or more than 9 hours of sleep. Additionally, the Sleep Coach card on your Home page in the Garmin Connect app may not display if your sleep coach is recommending a change less than 50 minutes (above or below) your baseline.

That sounds to me like the card will appear on the app home page possibly quite rarely (if ever at all). If you really find the Sleep Coach recommendations interesting, I recommend looking at them directly on the watch.

  • Thanks for this attempted explanation, but unfortunately, it's not the right one.

Two days ago, the sleep coach (on my watch) was showing me a 1 hour 10 minute deficit compared to my baseline sleep. Yet, nothing appeared on Garmin Connect.

No, I think the problem lies with Garmin Connect, which is waiting for an update—well, I very much hope so!

  • My thoughts are sleep tracking is next to useless. When you sleep you are asleep. When you wake up you either feel good or not. If you exercise you'll sleep better. Maybe it's your pillow or mattress or something else. Either way 'sleep tracking' just shows a basic result not any solutions.

  • funny thoughts ...  "Sleep coach"  sounds like having a Coach telling you how to do things, exercises, work, etc.
I can picture in my head Coach St Slaughter yelling in the morning:
-Come'on  John, you can sleep better than that
-My grandma can sleep better than you , and that is with a broken hip.
-Give me 20 pushups now now now  ! I want to see you sleeping good on my call !

HAHAHA, Sorry too much coffee this morning.
